16Gb download

great new! I want the box though. and I need to know whether I can run it well before hand.
-
I get like 1500+ KB/s downloads from Steam...about 3.11 hours to download 16GB if I did the math right.

man i heard that they on "say" 16gb i heard in reality it is only like 8gb or so..

...is there? i never knew that...I hope gta4 has some crazy mods after seeing goku, sonic, pikachu, spiderman, and mario is san andreas the bar is set high

I think this sums up the performance part.
Official requirements posted on steam for GTA4
System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / Windows XP - Service Pack 3
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4GHz
Memory: 1.5GB Vista / 1GB XP
Graphics: 256MB Nvidia 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c Compliant Card
Hard Drive: 16GB of Hard Disc Space
Sound Card: 5.1 Channel Audio Card
So service Pack 3 on XP is required? that sucks! SP3 kills performance, and causes some other serious issues on my PC's.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Is that minimum or recommended?
-
minimum. recommended gets scarier
-
I dont know if Im going to get this game because I would like to play it at a fairly decent setting... Ahh well... Looks awesome though
-
What's your laptop's specs?
-
Thats minimum?? ***
This game will become the next crysis. 90% of laptops wont run it decently from the looks of it. -
Yep. Recommended is an ATI 3870. And keep in mind all the mentioned cards are desktop cards, substantially better (in most cases) than laptop GPUs.
-
i dont think it will be that bad. might not be able to max out everything but i think i will be able to play it just fine.
-
the recommended requirements are quite simply stupid for this game; i would guess less than 5% of the notebook community could run this game with the recommended requirements! its a fairly bad marketing move by the developers, as im sure the requirements will put quite a few people off buying this game.
Hopefully, as speculated elsewhere, the requirements are only that high if you turn the traffic/pedestrian depth right up. I mean.. a quad core and 3870... its just insane. -
I played it on a friends 360, honestly I wasn't impressed, was choppy at best. But I'm a big fan of the GTA series, so I'll see how others laptops run this game, and make a purchase decision from that. I'd go with the box, d/l 16gb, no thx
-
i still dont see how the minimum video card is a 7900 but the recommended is an 8600.
-
****, first game i was going to buy in ages and i dunno anymore, how do you guys think my MBP will hold up? (info in sig)

Oof, those requirements look killer on the CPU. I just get by with my 2.0ghz dual core.
-
dang, i gotta 2.4 single core, it would probably still run, but really poorly...
