    GTA IV Fatal Error
    bought this game pre release and only played it a few times but imo i hate it.
    thought id give it one last go before i delete it to free up some disc space but today im getting a fatal error.
    "windows xp needs to have service pack 3 or higher to proceed"

    problem is im using vista and have never had xp loaded on my clevo.

    yes im looged into windows live
    yes im logged into social club
    yes they are linked
    yes ive got the latest update

    any ideas nbr community?

    Did you try compatibility mode and running as administrator? Just a guess on that info...

    Yes, what Nikko_300bhp said. Most users usualy switch the compatability to XP SP3 or 2000 to remedy this issue.

    tell me about it. pre ordered it a month before its release and got vice city free. not one glitch with that except its old but just couldnt get into gta IV

    oh well,you win some and you lose some. this is one im loosing,lol.

    Take it up with the guys over at the GTAforums. They should be able to help you out more than we can. I really hate to see another gamer not being able to play the games they love.

    Google search shows there are alot of people with this problem and compability mode is usually the fix for it.
