Hello, I´m gonna buy a new computer with a Nvidia Geforce G105M, and I was wondering if this card will support GTA IV, even with low graphics...
So will it support it?
Thanks
-
It will be unplayable.
-
agreed
dont even try -
But I played it on a Geforce 8400 GS, which is supposed to be worst than Geforce 105M...
Why is that? -
It will run but quite bad and all lowest settings
here u can see it being run on Geforce 105

Because its a low end card it only slightly better than the 8400GS. GTAIV is a very demanding game that will even bring down High end desktop cards to its knees. If want to play GTAIV to should shoot for a laptop that has a Mid range card like the HD4650

Thanks for the info... Where do you get this kind of info?Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015

What about Geforce 310M? is it much better than 105?
-
Check this out:
This is how a NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS will work on GTA IV:
width='480' height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LecmXr7-0AY&hl=es_ES&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LecmXr7-0AY&hl=es_ES&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='480' height="385"></embed></object>
And this on NVIDIA Geforce G105 GS will work on GTA IV:
width='480' height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Zgko_PD02eA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Zgko_PD02eA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='480' height="385"></embed></object>
Why does it go better on a 8400 if it is worst than a 105?Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Geforce G105M is better than ati 3470.. And im using ati 3470 to play gta IV.. Runs smooth on low graphics.
-
Desktop Card != Laptop Card.
-
Nvidia Geforce G105M are only on desktops?
-
If you look at the two Youtube videos, you'll realize that GTAIV is being played on a DESKTOP 8400 GS while the second video is being played on an X3100 Intel graphics which is nothing like a MOBILE G105M and makes me question why those were mixed up. The point is, if you compare the MOBILE version of the 8400 GS which is the 8400 M GS with the MOBILE G105 M, you will find that the G105M will be better than the 8400M GS. But they both run worse than the DESKTOP 8400 GS.
-
Both are quite crap for gaming.. for gaming u need something like a GT330M at least or ATI Mobility HD 5650... but if u got a budget of $1499 , u can get Asus G73 with ATI 5870 which can play GTA IV at full HD (1920X1080 ) res easily...
-
What CPU do you have ? The first posts are even not worth reading.
-
Actually my budget is for a laptop of 600€ ... That's why I´m trying to find the best for that amount of money...
I´m looking for a Intel core 2 duo 2.0+ Ghz and a good Graphic card for my small budget...
What do you suggest will be the best graphic card i will find with that budget? -
I think the OP has misconception that a desktop 8400 is the same as a laptop 8400.
OP the Desktop 8400 is more powerful than a mobile version. To get good performance on laptop, you always have to go for the high end. A high end Mobile is a mid-high range desktop. -
But wont the grapich card end burned on laptops? ... that what happened to my Geforce 8400 after 2 years of using it ((with a well working fan))
-
correction...
what cpu he would have makes 100% no difference with that graphics unit
with that 105m he might as well get a wallpaper of the game and pretend to be playing it -
WAIT wallpaper? You mean in 16-bits mode right?
-
WOW this is messed up, but with a budget like that don't expect to get a top of the line machine. You can probably get a low-mid range card but it won't max out GTA any time soon.

is the closest thing i could find to a reasonable solution, with that should at least be playable on low
mobile 5470, much stronger then the 105 -
I recommend you install GTA SA instead, it will look better than GTA IV does on low settings I bet.
-
With a budget like that your best bet to get a cheap gaming desktop since you want to play GTAIV. With that you will be able to play at much higher settings and saved some cash
-
I noticing they screwed up the GPU description in the link.
-
In High quality?
-
if u want a nice laptop for GTA IV , try the refurbished Asus G51s... they have P8700 and NVDIA GTX260M which is high end card and should play GTA IV on high...
GTA IV on Geforce G105M?
