Ok everytime I start up Grand theft auto san andreas on my dv7 with a hd 3200 everything goes fine until the actual gameplay. I get an average of 5 fps's just walking around. I already tried disabling the game to use only one core, set the settings to low everything, and I got the latest drivers from ati.com. Could somebody help me out??

BTW im on vista 32bit ultimate with 4gigs of ram(I know i need 64, i used a 32bit cd to do a fresh install.)

    Try disabling the frame limiter.

The hd 3200 is really weak...are you running at native resolution?

And San Andreas doesn't need a monster to run. I still remember my ATI 7000IGP was able to run it all medium at 1024x768 some 3 years ago. The Go 7600can run it on very high settings at 1440x900.

Try using gpu-z and cpu-z to see if anything is downclocking.

Also check your power management settings. You might be using the power saver option.

1440 x 900 is a very demanding resolution. 1280 x 800 is the perfect res for low - mid range dedicated cards so you should at least start there.

To see if your cpu or gpu is downclocking run gpu-z and cpu-z and "alt tab" out of the game and see what speed they are running at.

Turn mip-mapping and anti aliasing off. They are fps limiters in San Andreas. Also you can turn your settings to medium. That resolution is ok I believe. Don't maximize the draw distance.
