I tried replacing some vehicles of GTA San Andreas with some I downloaded, by accessing the gta3.img file of the "models" folder via a program callled "GTA Garage Manager". When I finished, I opened the game, there was o problem... untill I selected the New/Load game menu item. Then, when the usual load screen with a cartoony character shows up, when the game shoul load in about 3 seconds, the load bar sticks at the midddle and the game does not respond, although the San Andreas music theme goes on. I the uninstalled the game, removed ALL files/folders having to do with the game, and the mods, and then installed it again... And again, the same thing happens. I tried re-installing the game 2-3 times, but the problem is not fixed. Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

(maybe useless note: I run on Vista Home Premium 32-Bit)

He's done that a few times. I think there may be stuff left in your registry that might cause the crashes.

    Thanks for replying guys...

@Lithus: How can I access my registry to delete anything that has to do with SA?

@Lite: I uninstalled the garage manager before the first uninstall.

You have to use a registry cleaner. Search google.

Got a registry and junk cleaner I recommand CCleaner. It's a freeware and it gets the job done nicely.

I had the same problem so I right clicked on the GTA SA on the desktop and changed the compatability to XP or ME whichever works for you.

I have i very similar problem. I installed a corrupt mod(i know its a corrupt mod because whenever it comes into sight the game crashes) with sami(san andreas mod installer). Tried getting rid of it. i have uninstalled EVERY single gta related file including sami and cleaned the registry and even deleted save games and all the other files in that folder to see if it would work. I have uninstalled the game countless times and still the mod doesn't go away. Its so annoying that i can't even play one of my favourite games anymore.

Same problem here. Trying to get back to stock, no mods, but can't get rid of the modded vehicles. Re-install several times, manually delete user files, no luck. Still getting modded vehicles on a new install, in a new game.

Some hacker should figure out how SAMI did this to my computer - way weird!
