This is no way directed to you JRE but my thoughts on all these "remaster" releases are not all that peachy. To be honest I see all these as just lazy ways for the devs to milk more money out of existing products instead of coming up with actual new content.

What's the plan? After x years we just slap on new graphics and release all old games as "new" AAA titles? Screw that. It's like we're getting dumber and lazier as a society.

I kinda agree. And those graphics don't look too good either.
If it was a remake a la Mafia I would be all for, but hits doesn't look too good.

Instead I just wish they would just release RDR1 on PC...

Yeah slap on some upscaled textures, by AI, and adjust some contrast all good I guess. It will support DLSS. I mean it does look better for sure but it's pretty lazy of these devs as mentioned. 3 is the one that needs updating the most. One huge plus is full 6 axis camera and better controls overall, maybe auto saving added in there. I'm not sure what the price will be but it's probably way more than it should be.

Replayed that whole trilogy last year vanilla except for slient patches and 6 axis camera and it was great love those games. Funny they have the scene with the Trump character in there lol All three total were about 10gb installed, this one calls for 45gb most likely about 30gb installed so around 10gb per game. GTA4 still has the most realistic and in depth features if not graphics but still looks fine, and two decent DLCs, probably an update on that next.

Lets not kid ourselves, the remasters are going to sell like hotcakes. I wouldn't mind stepping back into GTA3, I think it's the only one in the series I ever finished anyway. I may have finished Vice City.. I never touched San Andreas.. I played GTA4 for maybe 4 hours and have never installed 5 either.

I enjoyed playing GTA V but just for the story, once when it came out. I never kept playing because I didn't enjoy the lack of progression system or RPG elements, and as far as the multiplayer side of things I don't really play any online only only games, no purpose because when they shut down servers you can't play and lose your character, I absolutely hate that.

Personally I would much prefer a remaster of an older one if it was available DRM free, that would get me to buy them. I actually tried to look to buy SA recently because I read it was DRM free, but I hit a dead end, I think it was only available through Rockstar Launcher IIRC. Other than some sort of really old GTA on gameboy or something, I only played a little of 4 and the story once of 5.

Personally its not worth it. I seen graphic mods having better graphics for all 3 games, the modding community can do a better job

Since the gameplay is going to be the same and i bet a lot of people will struggle beating GTA 3 :p

Those RC missions in both VC and especially SA are some of the most difficult gaming I've ever done, used a trainer last year on the re-plays bc games aren't worth the frustration.

Yeah its not worth it for that price.

Also fun fact Claude and Tommy still cant swim :p

I wouldnt mind a remake of GTA IV because of how badly optimized the game was. It was ahead of its time back then with the graphics and physics, hell even i liked it a bit more than GTA V.

For sure. GTA IV was my favotrite, even if VC had the best setting and GTA V had a better gameplay. But for the rest GTA IV hands down was the best.

C'mon Rockstar, do it! GTA IV sure needs some love (and RDR while you're at it).
Just please make a better go than you did with GTA 3D universe (which they probably won't).
I would actually buy GTA TDE if they didn't cut music out and included uncensored edition of Vice City.

Won't be a complete experience without it :D.

Old games need remakes to update their graphics, not remasters.

The remaster still looks like crap. If they want to update the graphics so it looks like games from today, they need to remake the models in addition to the graphical updates they included.

The resident evil remakes are a prime example of how a graphical upgrade to an old game should be done.

GTA4 was an astounding upgrade from GTASA, not just graphics but the story was gritty and dark much less cartoony than the previous ones and not hollywood action movie like V. It had so much attention to detail of any of the GTA games ever. Probably the last single player focused GTA ever. The camera is terrible though, I have to fight it, seems to have a mind of its own.

The remasters are a disaster from what I've read, requiring DX12 to fix problems for games that were way before DX12, plastic doll characters, rampant censorship and music removed, pulled off the stores and not even available for paying customers to play at the moment, even the source code leaked for the switch version(bizarre release to me since nintendo is supposedly child/family focused, never believed it though). Such a cash grab these lazy remasters, seems like only stinkers from the AAA studios this year.

Looks like they're taking grief for the graphics which do look rather sorry in the pictures being posted; maybe they need to hire some of those Blizzard folks that have been quitting? They did better with a lot less.

The ones who did Warcraft 3 remake or Diablo 2?
Because depending on who you get results will strongly vary.

I was talking about the D2 boys, should have thrown that in. You can go with old and pathetic, stupid, or both as to why I didn't. I skipped the WC3 remake but certainly kept up with the brouhaha; those would not be the droids they're looking for... :)

Call it karma for trying to take down the modding community and doing a worse job at it.

Here is how you can play GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in VR

All you have to do in order to enable VR in GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is download this mod. Horologium Console mod basically adds Unreal Engine console into the game. Then, launch the game, open the UE console, and type “GTA.VR 1”. And that’s it.

    https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/here...gta-the-trilogy-the-definitive-edition-in-vr/

Always think crime simulators should be only a 2d experience but apparently lots of people like the 5 mod.
