Not a racist question or anything...

But is there a way or a mod to change the appearance of the lead character?

    Thanks

I've never did this myself, but I'm 100% sure it's possible. Just take a look on websites like thegtaplace and gtagarage (google for those). There you'll find thousands of modifications for the GTA games, including player skins. You should find explanations on how to change your player's look on these sites as well.

    Have fun!

There are in-game cheat codes you can use to change into most any of the NPC character models. I usually play as Candy Suxx.

Yup, you would need to mod it. Its not too difficult to mod stuff. GTA 3 was easier because it had a cheat code where you can select multi characters. Not sure if San Andreas has any character change cheat codes.
