    I sucessfully started playing San Andreas on my Acer Aspire 1681.. but on low graphics settings.. i have a question though.. it seems that my laptop gets really hot while playing.. i know its upposed to get hot.. but it gets hot to the point where it kinda burns my lap.. what is the temp threshold for my dothan centrino and my graphics card.. i dont want to burn anything out while playing.. is there a good program to monitor this while im playing? thanks guys!

    you can use this program to measure temperature of the hard drive which provides a general temperature of the internals:

    if it's burning your lap you might be blocking vents on the bottom or side and making it harder for the laptop to cool, it's best to place the notebook on a flat surface when gaming.

    thanks for the help.. i was wondering if their were any programs to monitor the temp of the processor/video card while in game..

    When I play games, I try to be at my desk so I can have my little Turbo Fan blowing on it. ;) My processor stays fairly cool while playing some games (less intense), but when it does get hot (when playing games like Half Life 2, Juiced, and Call of Duty), it is nice to have the Turbo Fan on the job.

    I'm unaware of any programs that display the temps while your are in the game, but I'm sure a simple search would yield some results. I'll look into it. That would be quite interesting. I'll let you know if I find anything worth checking out.
