Hey guys, I'm not sure if Rockstar will follow the same steps in releasing their new GTA for PC as previous titles, but if they did, what do you guys imagine being some specs required to run the game? Can't say I've played a "Next gen" game on my laptop other than Crysis if that qualifies... Interested to hear what some people will say.

I would say the same as COD4.
-
It won't be Crysis level that's for sure. The game runs on consoles that are about two years old, so they aren't exactly bleeding edge.
-
Pretty safe bet your Gateway will handle it like a champ. The only thing that worries me is how detailed I can get the game while maximizing draw distance.
-
Optimistic side says like GoW. Pessimistic side says R6:V. -
I'm more concerned about they actually announcing the game for PC. I'm sure a 8600M GT Level card or above will handle the game just fine.
If your lappy runs Crysis fine on medium then it sure can play GTA IV. -
I wonder if it'll be DirectX 10...
-
I hope my 5793 can run it
-
I've read a lot of blogs and posts quoting rockstar as saying they won't be releasing a PC version. I will have to go google a source ;>
EDIT: It appears I was mistaken, thankfully, I guess they said no comment. Not no computer. My memory is too full of women and COD4 for remembering quotes I guess.

The 5793 won't break a sweat -

if GTA IV is released for pc it'd better support use of the xbox control pad. Keyboard and mouse sucks ass for driving and I haven't found a use for my pc adapter yet. Also, it would be nice to see my 9262 iron out the wrinkles in this game.

useless rambling -

The last GTAs have all been optimised well, well except for GTA3. Regardless, R* are a top dev, and if they dont port it, then theyll ship it off to another studio just for porting.

Im guessing a little lower then cod4. But remember MODS will tweak it
-
Lower than COD4? I doubt it
But hey, one can dream... -
seeig as how the 360 can play cod4 at 60 fps but gta 4 has some slowdown issues i think the requirements are gonna be high.

"
the hardware on the X360 and PS3 is not as advanced(well GPU wise). The PS3 uses a 7900GT version and the X360 uses a R500(basically a X1800XT). So they will not have DX10 graphics to start but they may add them into the PC version. It will go to the PC. " Taken from an online forum
