    in North America and on November 21st in Europe.

    not saying that it will or wont be cross platform online.

    i will say that the guy who wrote the article is pretty far off...

    for one thing, gta almost always comes out of the box completely cooked (ie. they rarely release patches) obviously none of the console gta's have had patches before. the pc version had 1 patch, and that came in large part due to the hot coffee scandal. so the whole "developing patches side by side" thing is kind of nonsense. it just honestly can't be that much of an issue for rockstar. they have that kind of manpower.

    secondly, cheating is much less an issue in pc games versus console games. some of that depends on the game, but gta4 on the console already has "jump out of the world" glitches where you end up inside of a hill or something and you can see people and shoot out, but they can't see your nor shoot into the hill. on the pc, people run dedicated servers with moderators, and moderators have the power to kick, IP ban, or cd key ban cheaters. in some cases, there is the potential to be permanently banned from the online game, period. nothing like that exists on the console (except maybe kicking with a majority vote...)
