Nice post. Hmm does the 14500 seem kind of low for the 3DMark2006 score for 280M SLI ??? God Bless :)

interesting how a single 280m +i7 ripped the sli 280m + t9900 apart in GTA IV. such a bad port.

    GTA4 and i7 are best friends truly :) .

Wonder why the panel brightness got rated so low ? it is supposed to be a Dual bulb config like the Asus in that graph .

oh no. the qx9300 will crush the little t9900. i don't why they didn't get a better cpu in it.

thats what i was tryin to figure out too. i'm not sure if the link was translated correctly, but it said something like "the t9900 was the biggest mobile processor."

    shrugs. anyway i'm gettin a 280m SLI-equipped beast in the near future. :D :D :D

yeap id agree the article definately seemed to have some translation errors...but it was still very informative....
Your getting the sli 280's id be interested to see what benchmarks you get, i also feel mid 14000's was alittle low for that setup....

I'm not surprised by the 14,xxx score on 3DMark06.

I was happy to see the really nice frame rates during gaming even at high resolutions.

I thought this is where the 280's would shine.

keep in mind guys Nvidia is better for games.... the 3870's in Xfire can score over 17 k in 3dmarks so thatr is not a true judge for power any more.....

they did not optimize or tweak the system so that is what was to be expected if you put this in the proper hands like john or alot of other people they will hit 16-17k ....

Nvidia likes games not synthetic benchmarks

I like how its coping with full HD res basically the same frames as it is with low res, i actually didnt expect that, but the 280 are looking nice, and this unoptimised system makes this review kind of, useless really. Its going to be so capable.

yup, that is the ONLY thing i'm worried about. 1920 x 1200 resolution FPS. period. i've never really cared too much about all those synthetic benchmarks and scores. they're just like guys that "paper race cars". they compare cars by magazine numbers and crap like that. totally useless.

Yeah and 3D Mark 06 is still too old and too CPU limited. The faster CPU you have the higher you score.

Better to judge by in game perfomance, that´s where it counts no synthetic benchmarks.

Benchmarks are there to give one a general idea of how a machine may perform....of course ingame experience is the best benchmark but i have found the benchmark tests to be quite helpful in giving me a general idea how a machine i am looking to buy runs.
So i dont think they are "totally useless".
