So I recently installed a GTX 560M GPU on my computer and it seemed to work fine. However, after the next day I saw red dots on my LCD screen/strange discoloration. They went away after a bit. two hours later, the red dots won't go away now! The shapes that i'm seeing look like artifacts I'm not sure if my GPU is already getting artifacts (which is pretty crappy because it came from a new clevo) or if my LCD screen is dying.

    1) I've tried plugging a vga cable to an LCD external monitor and LCD external works fine.
    2) I've tried re-installing the drivers (with a clean install) and it still gives me red dots
    3) i've tried reseating the GPU and moving my computer RAM... no luck

I'm running out of ideas and could use some help. I've also provided a screenshot of my desktop screen from my phone and a pic of windows chrome. Thanks in advance!

Do you still get these dots or artifacts while in Dos or bios and safe mode?

From the information you've presented thus far, esp the external LCD working fine, seems like a prob with your display..
If there's no problem while in dos or bios then its most likely the GPU

Which notebook do you own btw?
Since you must have opened up most of your notebook look into whether the display cable is properly seated.. I had a toshiba which was getting similar(though not exactly the same) artifacts like yours intermittently. It turned out to be a loose display cable and that too at the LCD end i.e. behind the display, not on the mobo. It was weird how the cable got loose on its own, hadnt even opened it recently.

Anyway, I hope your problem is fix-able. Its sad to see any laptop component die.. :/

Btw a question just popped into my head regarding this, if anyone knows please answer.. If a gpu is causing artifacts, its a issue with the rendering of the screen right? So will the artifact should show up on a screenshot?

Any chance you knocked the cable when you installed the card?

As for artifacts appearing in a SS, some yes and some no.

The notebook that I own is an Alienware M15x. The red does show in while in dos and when it starts up. What cable are you referring to about possibly knocking card? I’ll check for a loose connection to the LCD screen and hopefully it will be the case. Thanks in advance 

Ok so now it works? When I took apart the LCD screen and refastened the cables, it still gave me red. I decided to put in my old GPU to make sure.... it worked? I then cleaned the paste off and installed it again... works perfectly now. So wierd!

With the tiny ribbon cables in that connect so many of those, a pin could easily slightly bend or give a weird connection without it being visibly obvious. I know when I've taken my Envy apart getting the keyboard and the mouse connected back properly takes a steady hand and a lot of patience, and I've had to take it back apart and put it back together, seemingly the exact same way, but it makes it work. You likely ran into something similar.
