    Hi everybody,

    I own a Toshiba Qosmio x775-q7272 with a gtx 560m GPU. However, in order to increase Stereo 3D performance, I would like to make it an SLI by adding another gtx 560m. Is this possible? Because on some website I saw that they are selling the second GPU with an extra adapter. So looking forward to hearing some advice.

    First of all thanks to both of you for taking the time to answer. I have few more points to be enlightened about:

    1-Well if it is not possible to make it an sli, the best i can do is to exchange it for a 570m since they have the same power consumption. But, I wonder if I can put a GTX 580 in my laptop. I read on notebookcheck that 580m's consumption is 100w while 560m and 570m stay at 75w. Would that be a limitation?

    2-Does the eGPU solution rule out the internal GPU of your notebook? If so, It would be a waste to kill the 560m for an external card.

    3-And beyond all, would there be a problem with BIOS? Because my specifications will be different from the factory specs, does it get me into any trouble other than having my warranty cancelled?

    Im not sure the GTX570m consumes the same power. TDP is not how much it consumes, but the power it dissipates. Thermal Desing Power.
    In a way it does, because you run either the external one or the internal one.

    Dunno man, Toshiba is indeed VERY quirky with their warranties. They once tried to cancel my warranty due to a cosmetic scratch....

    683R = 560M = 150W PSU
    683DXR = 570M = 180W PSU

    There is obviously a real power difference.

    Are you absolutely sure there's any MXM slot at all?

    Sorry hockeymass, but I did not understand your question. Or did you even ask the question to me?

    I read through the user guide but have not come across anything like that and on the web I was not luckier at finding anything alike. So I do not know. The only website promising similar things was this:

    MXM Upgrade Home Page

    Though I sent an e-mail, still no response.

    The Toshiba doesn't use an mxm slot, the graphics card you have is the only option for that laptop. Overclocking or the egpu is your best bet. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Toshiba uses a proprietary system with their laptops

    It may be an MXM slot. I'm not sure they make a 560m that is built into a board. Look at the Asus G73/G74 for instance. Or the new MSI gaming laptops.

    I am pretty much sure that it isn't an MXM standard slot.
