    Hey everyone!

Last night while playing some sweet sweet DayZ I started getting artifacts on my screen and my fps went the way of the pooper... I restarted the game and had no issue for about 10 minutes, then both screens (laptop and external monitor) go black and I'm sitting in windows with an error message saying:

" Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version xxx.xx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I restarted the game, but this happened again right as the game took over the screen. I rebooted, same issue... I tried Starcraft2, same issue... I tried a full screen youtube video, same issue.......

I then rebooted into linux for no real reason, rebooted back into windows and it played nice for a few minutes then happened again. I used the nvidia driver wiper and reinstalled the drivers... I still have the same issue...

I'm sitting here at work thinking about it and wondered if you all had any ideas/recommendations. I'll be calling Malibal when they open, but thats 2 hours away!! :)

I've searched the all-mighty google, and some people fix it by updating drivers(didn't work for me), reinstalling drivers(didn't work for me), and replacing the hardware(oh dear lord no... I don't want to go without my baby for that long QQ).

    Cheers,

it could be one of the cards but also when was the last time you cleaned your fans and vents out with compressed air as it could also be a temperature problem.
also try turning sli off so it only uses one card and see if that stops the driver from crashing.

Thanks for the info MrDJ. The computer is about 2 months old, and I've been VERY OCD about cleaning out the fans and the vents. I'd say it's pretty safe to assume it's not dust. Also I watch the temps of everything while I play... again with the OCD :) Temps stay under 80, and when this happened they were in the high 60s low 70s.

I'll be running stress tests with SLI on and off when I get home and hopefully that will point to which card it is.

i know a couple of years ago there was quite a lot of sli customers with the same problems but i cant remember what the solution was which doesnt help much.
hopefully its a driver problem and not a faulty card.

Getting this a lot too, mainly in games like Skyrim, was doing it like mad in Spec Ops: The Line I have tried changing the drivers, but it only works for awhile after then starts again. Skyrim has been left unplayable to me, the driver will crash a few times then all the effects are gone like water, fire, smoke and clouds. :( Of course mine is only 280m Sli and three years old with constant use. I imagine I will be sending it in soon, well better be real soon the warranty is nearly done.

I think I just confirmed that it's the second video card.

With SLI enabled, I ran 3DMark and got some really ugly score... 2000ish for video card and 8000ish for CPU...

I ran it again with SLI off, and scored a cool 8900ish for video card and 19000ish for CPU... Yippee!

So SLI is turned off and Malibal said a new gtx560m will be in the mail ASAP. :)
