Now you can overclock the GTX 780M with a few key press on the keyboard :)
Download the program here: GTX 780M Overclocking tool

    Supports:
    Windows 7 and 8
Single GTX 780M and SLI GTX 780M

    Important information:
This software is based on Clevo GTX 780M Vbios, but is safe for MSI and Clevo. Dell GTX 780M have not been tested yet, but should work with this program.

    About the program:
The program is still in Beta, so there are some restrictions of frequency.

    Tutorial:
    - Download and unzip the program, double click to open exe program and continue step by step, the program will automatically install and will start.

    - Select your frequency by pressing the code located on the far right in the program and press ENTER, and finally "Y" to confirm. The program will flash your GTX 780M to the corresponding frequency.

    Question&Answers:
Q: How to ensure that the program is safe?
A: Ensure that the program have fully loaded before you begin flashing the GPU.

Q: In battery mode operation can brush to write?
A: No, for safety reasons, you must plug in the AC power when you flash the VBIOS.

Q: Why doesn`t the <xx> match the adapter PCI Subsystem ID <xx>?
A: This is normal, not a mistake, press y to continue flashing the VBIOS.

Q: Why can`t the program find the GTX 780M?
A: Make sure HD4000 graphics core has been disabled and that the discrete GPU is running. You may need to press FN + F7 to restart a system that will only allow the GTX 780M to run.

So this will over ride the stock clock? Does it also override the thermal limitation? Meaning will it down clock if it reach a certain temperature? Thank!

Nice! I'm keeping an eye on Maxwell and if it looks like it will be delayed significantly (i.e. > Q2 2014) I may go with an SLI 780m setup. And this looks like a nice app. Porting it for 680m would be a nice option too. :)

Pretty sure the thermal limit is still there to protect the GPU.
All it changes is the GPU clock as well as the memory clock, including the Boost clock. So if you have a game you can`t get enough FPS from, just fire up this program and overclock it with a few touch on the keyboard, until you have enough to play the game fluidly :)

As for a GTX 680M tool, yes there exist one, but it is only made for Alienware (Dell) GTX 680M. It may brick MSI/Clevo 680Ms

I can't get it to work. When I unzip it, I see the Alienware GeForce GTX 780M 显卡超频程序【预览版】. I double click it and when it ask for the setup.exe which windows can't find.

The pre set clock is kinda weird, jumping from 950 to 1024. They don't have a 1000 core clock?

    Great question.
Maybe with NOS the MSI laptops won't need it but it's all purely speculation on my part.
Give it a try and see if it works.

I've only got the 180W PSU, so hesitant in OC'ing if it brings little benefit.

The max I can run on the 180w PSU and no NOS, is about 900 core and/ 2700 memory. Even if I overclock higher, the GPU self downclocks due to lack of power. If I enable NOS, I can get up to 980/2900 for gaming, but at +500mhz I get shadowing of the screen with certain shader effects, but at +400mhz it works great!

Anyone know a good guide for blind flashing the 780m on the P15*SM just in case.............

    RE 180w adaptor

I've got a 230w PSU on the way, I think I'm starting to glitch here and there when OCing the CPU at the same time, I think this is an issue HTWingNut experianced without OCing the CPU but he was running the slightly beefier 4800MQ - which my OC'd 4700MQ is still not as quick as!

    still 230w to be safe,

The IGP can't be used on the clevo machines by itself. It's only possible on the MSI with an unlocked bios and switching it which can't happen if the GPU goes completely.

The code to unpack the files is within a "README" file inside the zipped container.

Nobody that have tried the software yet?

Nothing intelligible appears on my screen when I try to install it and all. I don't understand what's going on hahaha.

Maybe the creator can release his code, mainly to see what values he changes on the vbios?

I've tried the software, I get a message saying it's locked and needs a serial. It gives me three chances to enter the serial and then closes.

    This is all I have:

I'm going crazy here cause my 780m keeps crashing. What's the normal boost clock of the 780m, my card goes to 850 on the core and that's too high for stock so maybe I need to down clock it or up the voltage

    771 to 797 to 850 core.
When you add to the first number it replicates through the other two. You should be fine up to about 910 core.

Not me Lol, I have to down clock to be more stable. If I leave crysis 3 on it will crash within 15 min, same for long benchmarks like valley. The more I down clock the longer its stable. If my chip is Bad, I'm finished with this PC lol

Rest assured. It's not your gpu, it is the vbios! That is a fact.
But im coming to find that the safest highest mem over clock is 1500. Start going above that and problems kick in. FC04 Vmem though

So why would MSI load this 780m with an unstable vbios ? Or maybe its bad drivers also. I rolled back to 314.22. I really hope I can get a good vbios soon with voltage control and boost stabilization!

Can everyone start dumping their 780m vbios here? I'd like to try another manufacturers bios

typically I see 80°C on the 780m core, if I don't use a cooling stand or block the vent a bit (on my lap on the sofa) it will start hitting 85°C and the fans start ramping up the speed from here on. I believe as you start approaching 90° you'll begin to lose your turbo clock, so it should automatically down clock and maintain stability - I don't think you should have to manually under-clock?

(have you checked your TIM or applied a premium brand)

Yes I have applied paste several times and temps are never above 73c

As for the vbios I don't know which is which in the first thread, plus do the vbios in the OP have voltage tweaks aswell or just clock tweaks ?

I'm having a similar issue on my P375SM. I was chalking it up to my OC, but even stock speeds tend to crash after a couple runs in 3DMark11. BF3 invariably crashes for me after 5-6 minutes, but that might be drivers (I'm using the Betas, but had the same behavior on the included drivers).

I haven't gauged what my boost clock is going to stock, but will check later. Temps look good, never going over 80c.

I don't think MSI loaded it with a bad vbios. Had this laptop a month and haven't had a single GPU related crash, even when gaming for hours straight. Mine Turbo boost to 849/2497, and stays stable at this for the entire game. Using drivers 311.48. Maybe try those? They shipped with the laptop. Which vBios do you have?

Is your GPU failing and/or showing artifacts on stock despite good temps? It does sound like it's dying. I have had 2 behave similarly before dying.
