In terms of gaming performance, which would be better at 1920x1080? Currently I am looking at the ASUS G550JK which is unfortunately plagued with DDR3 VRAM. A friend of mine picked up a Lenovo Y410P with a single GT 755M that has GDDR5. Does the extra GPU power of the 850M outweigh the GDDR5 on the GT 755M? I would like to stay with the G550JK as I don't like the looks of the Y410/510/50, before the Y50 is suggested.

EDIT: Does anyone know if the Y50 supports manual hard drive upgrades?

My stock 850M gets around 4500 and overclocked gets 4800.

    A stock 755M gets around 3000.
