ACER Aspire Nitro VN7-571G-58VR
Intel Core i5-5200U
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M
Windows 10 (Same problem on 8.1)
Basically, everytime I use the GTX for online gaming my wifi just completely stops entirely. It works fine when playing non online games on it though, the wifi works fine and I can tab out and see that the wifi is still up and running.
I've been forced to play online games with the integrated HD5500, but that's not why I paid 900eu for this laptop. It's the same issue on every game that attempts to use internet when using the GTX. ESO, Counter strike etc. any game that tries to use internet.
I've googled a lot on this issue and there's mostly outdated and some interesting theories, changing channels on my router to stop some sort of interferance from my GTX. I tried every channel and still no luck.
Things i've tried so far.
- Most recent drivers
- Battery management off, everything on max. I always use my laptop with the charger on.
- Changing bandwith
- Upgrading to Windows 10
On a final note, I can play online fine with the integrated gpu. That's what's pissing me off, it's not my router or anything. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest contacting Acer for warranty on that. If they don't have a fix, return the laptop for being broken and get a different one.

I have the same problem with this laptop, never really realized it is because of 950M. I thought it is normal, save energy on wifi and give some extra power for other parts. Fortunately I do not play with online games, but if it is a reason to return I will also consider once too.

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Considering that user was asking about an unlocked Iphone I am going to guess they were not an official representative of nvidia

My Sager is currently out of commission so I apologize for not quoting... Electron migration is extremely common. It happens from top to bottom with nVidia. Stick some headphones in the 3.5 and see if you hear noise when you fire up a game but have that port silenced. Of you hear any whistling or grinding or any other type of noise, you have system leakage.. Acer is not fun to RMA... Hence the 3.5 test and I would suggest you demand a supervisor... Knowing that company, you may have to call up to 3 to 5 times... They'll eventually replace it if you can prove that your 3.5mm makes different noises when you fire up a game.
