Hi guys, I need some few advice. I've been playing Skyrim for awhile, I've tested several ENB's but it would seems that my mobile GPU (GTX 960m 4GB VRAM) isn't enough to run the game (with ENB) at 60 FPS, mostly it drastically drops my FPS below 30 FPS to 29 FPS or worst 24 FPS and it's not playable. So I've been thinking of buying myself a new laptop with SLI number, now most of you will probably recommend of building a desktop but I couldn't because I travel alot and there is no way that I will be bringing an entire desktop, so I prefer portability (I know, I'm wasting lots of money). I will just make things simple, does Skyrim support SLI mobile GPU and does a dual GTX 970m or dual GTX 980m enough to run the game with the most demanding ENB and 4k texture mods at 60 FPS? On the second thought, how's a single GTX 980m performs?
NOTE:
For those who are not familiar with ENB: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#tab=Introduction
Simply, it's a graphical enhancement for games such as Skyrim, GTA series, etc. It adds more bloom, Depth of field, and all that eye candy effects than a vanilla settings.
Also, I'm not gonna be buying a new laptop just because of this 1 reason (and that is for ENB only) but I want to run newer games in maximum settings as possible at 60 FPS which my current card can't do.

I know ENB is a huge performance hit, and I know SLI doesn't work too well with Skyrim (causes water issues etc) and not sure how the ENB will react to it, so I'd suggest at least 980M SLI if you can afford it. Plus, if you get other games you can enjoy that DSR goodness =D.

Here's a shameless plug of a Skyrim mod video I did with 980m SLI. It has about 70 mods including the very demanding bigger trees mod and of course EBN.
It runs admirably with 980m SLI. If you can afford 980m it's worth it.

I was using Sharpshooters ENB v5. Yeah I was netting around 80fps give or take.Beemo likes this. -
Well good that you found out. I never used ENB because I preferred RCRN, but ENB is mainly what hurts Skyrim's performance. If you don't use it and use a bunch of other stuff, you'd tear through it with even a single 980M. But glad you found out what you wanted!
Remember to lock Skyrim to 60fps!Beemo likes this. -
