    Well is it?

The score was 2233, but 3Dmark says it low compared to similar systems

3DMark always says that. I even get that on my i5-2500K overclocked to 4.8GHz and dual Radeon 6970's that are also overclocked. The problem with 3DMark is that they give equal weight to the insane overclockers as to the stock runs. Not to mention running 3DMark is a self-selecting test, so only the people with the highest speed systems tend to run the test in the first place, so... you get a vicious cycle.

Thats because every system on there is overclocked and so a stock sytem appears "Low"

I was thinking about getting a 460M- I'm curious about what your experience been. Would you mind dropping the specs for your machine in this thread?

    Ofcourse.

    Specs is:CPU intel I7 740, GTX460 and 6 gig ram 1 terrabyte HD.

My experience has been very good with this laptop, exept i have 1 fan who have started trouble. The GTX460m has been very stable and fast(for a laptop), and i have no trouble with the Nvidia drivers and my many games.

But as i have full hd screen, i want more power, but if you turn down the resolution, the most games, even BF3 will run on ultra, but with AA off. Some level on BF3 i can run it on full hd with ultra, but ofcourse its not 60 fps.

I had a deskotp before with intel Q9400 2.66ghz and 9800GT sli, and this laptop is faster

you can always overclock your 460m to 560m speeds.

All 460's will do 800 core/1600 shaders/1480 ddr5. Download a tool like MSI Afterburner and bump it up. Its a free 560m upgrade :D

Thanks, Audi4ever. I appreciate the information. Who's your laptop manufacturer?

Heh. This is actually why I'm looking to buy a new laptop. There have been so many great releases in 2011- Skyrim, Human Revolution, BF3- that my Nvidia 230M isn't anywhere close to being able to handle. You mentioned that you can play BF3- what other games do you play?

Awesome. If all that stuff'll run off of the 460M, there's enough in there to last me a calender year.

I can advise you, also got a 460M and it runs all good - overclock to 875mhz core clock and 1650mhz memory clock - Even BF3 is running smoothly with :
900p, Ultra, all textures medium, SSAO, Post AA low - 55fps avg - drop to 40 some rare times and up to 60
