    Hi guys,

Yesterday, I started to play Call of Duty 2. It's running fine on my machine, but I experience problems during the loading of missions (single player):

For 3 times, it happened to me that the game just freezed when it began to load a mission. Once it happened when I just continued right after the last mission, and 2 times it happened when I resumed the game from the main screen.
Only once, I was able to kill it with the taskmanager, the other 2 times, my computer had completely locked so I had to reset it.

Does anyone know where this error could come from? Never had such an issue with another game.

    Thanks!

If it's a software error, try to patch CoD2 if you havent.
Try using a different video driver
Check their forum to see if it's a common problem. WoW has eg. had many problems with the introduction of Core (2) duo processors.

If it's a hardware error, try checking the stability with prime95 (select the torture test), memtest86/memtest86+, Super Pi to 32 Mill and some claim 3dmark is usefull to check your gfx card as well.

    Hi,

I patched the game to V 1.3 (1.2 before). In the patch history, this problem wasn't mentioned to be solved, but it didn't reoccur. One more thing I did was starting the game in failsafe mode, so my graphics seetings were resetted to minimum. Now I readjusted them. Perhaps I used some different setting then before.

I don't think it's a hardware issue as I don't have the problem with any other games or programs. But to be safe, I ran Prime95 2 hours or so and 3D Mark 06 and 03 a few times and everything was fine, I got same scores as ever and had no problems.

Unfortunately, there is no newer graphics driver from Dell, mine is almost 1 year old...
