Hello everyone, I'm trying to make a list of controls for video games. The purpose of the list is for those who are using a PC controller on their PC to play games, and are looking for the Button Command conversions from System(PS3/Xbox/Wii) to PC.

IE: x button on PS3 = jump | space button on PC = jump
Therefore, when using PS3 controller on PC, the command for X would be "space"

Primarily the games I am focussing on are:
    Call of Duty: Black Ops
    Dragon Age: Origins
    Grand Theft Auto IV
    Elder Scrolls Oblivion IV
Need for Speed 11: Hot Pursuit

I am focussing on the conversions for these games because they seem to be some of the most played PC games as of this moment. As I continue to do research and experiments with these controls, please feel free to contribute your controls for some of these games, so that others may benefit from this knowledge. Sources you can find the controls would be usually the owner's manual. So if you have that, please take a look into it and add some info :) Pictures would be nice as well, however not necessary.

You can change the controls in most, if not all PC games. So what exactly is the point then of this thread?

I think he just wants to remap console keys to PC keys and make them all the same to get the feeling that you're playing on the console and not keyboard and mouse.

Exactly well said. That's the goal of this thread, to list the controls of the game on different systems, so that users can give that 'similar feel' while playing games on their PC, as if they were playing it on the PS3/Xbox/Wii.

I was going to add Oblivion IV controls for the PS3, but I don't have the game manual atm... so it'll be a while before I'm able to do so.

Anyways, if anyone can provide data on some of the controls for each game, that would be wonderful. I'm still waitng on one game at the moment. (Oblivion IV)

go here: Video Game Cheats, Reviews, FAQs, Message Boards, and More - GameFAQs

look up an FAQ (guide) for each CONSOLE game you are interested in. Those guides almost always include information about the controls, and there are usually several guides, especially for popular games. PC games list control schemes from within the game itself, so you don't need to compile that information.

There isn't really a need to compile all this information here. It's a pretty niche thing you are after. But, for any game where you want to do this - go to that website, look up the game FAQ, it will tell you about the controls, load up the PC game and investigate those controls, and then use your gamepad program to remap your gamepad controller to the correct keys, and save a profile of the layout.

WONDERFUL! This is what I've been looking for. Well, I haven't clicked the link yet, but I've been searching gamefaqs for years for control comparisons and yet have never found anything on them. Maybe I should've just asked where, but I thought that it'd be nearly impossible since I'm just so horrible at searching >.<

Okay, I'll take a look at this, and possibly add onto the list if anyone's still looking for an easy-to grab comparison chart instead of looking it up x)

Oh wait, the guides.... and controls x) I never figured it out because I always skip to the part where I need most (in the guides).

    THATS PROBABLY WHY ;b

Do people really buy the same games on multiple platforms?

I think it would be easier to just learn how to play the game using a mouse and keyboard.

I think it's a big 'waste' of money to buy games that you already have, especially more than one of the same system... but my friends do it and I guess I can't question their reasons... but people may find this list useful let's say... they have a game on their PC, and a PS3 controller (borrowing from a friend) and they don't own a PS3, and they are trying to play that PC game on that PS3 controller... then they could refer to this list, set up their keys and play as if they were playing on the PS3.

It's hard for me to explain, but those who need it, know exactly what I'm talking about.

I'm also going to keep adding onto this list as well, so that it provides easy-to-access information for NBR members, rather than having to search up your own information.

There is no need to make a list. Software can take care of mapping all the keys. Since every PC game (other than crap console ports) can have their keys remapped it is of no help to know what their defaults are. And for every single game that doesn't include native support for controllers, the software will allow you to remap the buttons on the controls (logitech setpoint, xpadder).

It sounds like all you really need is a list of the controllers buttons and their functions for the PS3/360 because you have no use for the PC's default settings.
