Well Im looking at getting a game today. Im not much of a gamer so it does not need to be the latest and greatest(my system would not run it anyways). Looking for either a fantasy game or a good shoot em up game.
    I have a Dell 1530, core duo 7250 at 2.o, but only the nividia 8400gs 128ddr3

Yes, but you`ll need to turn down some of the settings.
Also , you can OC the card, since the 1530 has a pretty decent cooling system.

Do you have the Orange Box yet? If not then before any other game you buy the OB should be first on your to get list.

    Other than that I recommend:

    Fantasy ~ The Witcher
    Shoot'em Up ~ CoD4 or UT3

    Fantasy-RPG:

    1) Fable Lost Chapter: Great game, about either being good or evil.. and has some funny scenes too as well as great voice acting. Dont worry your system can handle it fine!!

    2) Neverwinter Nights: Got some great story and adventuring places. Though maybe the D&D battle system are not your type but have a go with it.

    3) Elder Scroll Oblivion: why this in list? apparently when you update the patch to the latest version. You have the option of using VERY LOW SETTING which make the game playable, if you dont mind the graphic being tone down.. The game feature FREE-roaming in a vast world with a lot of quest to do, its your very own fantasy world. Be knight or Thief, be bad or good, be an assassin or savior, its all up to you :D oh yeah and the battle are action style. I played it on my old Asus X51r which has Ati1100 and it played fine.. though i think in your system it will perform much better :D

    4) Dark Messiah 3: An adventuring game using the same graphic engine as Half life 2 except it take place in medieval time, in other words you'll actually be fighting using swords, bow, dagger, cast magic etc.. great plot twist though..

    FPS game:

    1) Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl: currently playing it now with the MOD Oblivion Lost 2.0 and its great!! your system can take it fine just tone done a bit and you could venturing into the ZONE. The game is free-roaming except you are like a mercenary and can choose which faction you want to belong OR just become a freelancer and take on other jobs..

    2) The Orange Box: Great deal and great game.. really worth getting it.

    3) FEAR: Why not just try it, its one of the greatest fps game.

    4) Halo: Playable and great fps game.
