OKAY, I am leaving for Afghanistan in January!!!! I am bringing this (specs below) notebook with me. I want to know if i can get some game suggestions that will run on this notebook. I need
something to keep me occupied for the 15 months I'll be there. I like all sorts of games. Please omit games that require internet connection (or are better if played on-line), as i am not sure if I will have internet yet.

    ...............................Thanks in advance!!!

Your computer is going to be $%#! by the conditions in Afghanistan. You need a toughbook. You will probably only be able to play 2+ year old games at lowest settings. The older EA Sports games might play well. Maybe American Army might play on low setting with your computer. By the way, nice upgrade. :)

you could get some lengthy older rpgs with their expansions for cheap. Just make sure to download all the patches before you go :). I would suggest games like Baldur's Gate 1 + expansion, Baldur's gate 2 + expansion, the icewindale series + expansions. That alone is like a billion hours of play (not really but hey :)) If it were me I would like into games like that unless you are more into FPSs or other types of games.

Knights of the Old Republic I and II could be good suggestions on this line of thought. You can get them rather cheap on Ebay.

Not too worried about this laptop. I bought it to take to Afghanistan with me. I know normally the cold weather and dust would be a major issue. But LUCKILY, I'm in communications. So I will sit in a climate controlled room all day working on (starring vigoroulsy) military computers. So either way, I bought it for entertainment.
