I recently bought a pc game and everytime I play it it freezes after exactly 1 hour and I have to shut down my computer and start it back up. Can someone tell me what the problem is and how I can fix this??

More details please. Which game, your hardware configuration, any specific graphical anomalies, error messages etc.

ok. Game was F.E.A.R., Vista Home Premium, 2.2GHZ core 2 duo,1400x900 screen display, 2gb ram, Nvidia 8600gt graphics card

Nothing wrong looking at the system specifications, is your system overheating? Do you see odd glitches in gameplay or artifacts on screen? Is your laptop fan working?

Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Windows & drivers up to date?
Anything overclocked?
Game is patched up to latest patch?
Do you have AV running?
Have you checked the Sierra FEAR forum for similar problem that might have a fix?
As above heat may be an issue, check your temps. -
No it's a brand new laptop. Is there some kind of problem with vista and nvidia?
-
Download latest drivers to begin with..

ok I updated everything and it still freezes after an hour. In the bottom tray a yellow triangle comes up so I moved the mouse on it and it said "display driver nvlddmkm stopped working". So I play the game again and after exactly 1 hour it freezes again and same error message. Can anyone help me?

It's a huge problem apparently. All over the nvidia forums and other places. Now that we actually know what your real issue is. Try this. No garantees?
