I'm looking for a program where you can enter in a list of things and have it randomize the list and give you an output of one of the items on the list.
This is specifically for entering in games and having it give me a game to play. This will keep my gaming fresh and keep me interested in all of my games. I frequently have a hard time choosing what game to play and this would help a ton. Call me indecisive, I call it one less decision in a world full of them.
Thanks!I got a random number generator and assigned a game to each number. Here's my notepad document:
DO NOT GENERATE IF YOU WON'T FOLLOW THE GENERATION. IF YOU
DON'T FOLLOW THE GENERATION YOU MUST DELETE THE GAME FROM THE
LIST.
1 Minecraft
2 Battlefield: Bad Company 2
3 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam
4 Trackmania
5 Worms Reloaded
6 Assassins Creed: Brotherhood
7 Deus Ex: Human Revolution
8 Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
9 Oblivion
10 COD: Black Ops
11 COD: MW2

Well you could use a random number generator and assign each of your games a number.

So I had the idea to create a random game generator. That is, to have my computer randomly select one of my games to play. It eases the burden of selecting from my many games to play, keeps my games fresh, and provides me some gaming variety. With a slight twist. Take a look at my list:
DO NOT GENERATE IF YOU WON'T FOLLOW THE GENERATION. IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THE GENERATION YOU MUST DELETE THE GAME FROM THE LIST.

3 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam

21 LoZ Ocarina of Time (or) LoZ Majora's Mask
22 Starfox Adventures

Now, I use a random number generator to select what game I play. I have to play the selected game for 30 minutes at least. It works wonderfully. At first, you will be reluctant to play the game if it's one you don't want to play. But as long as you put in only excellent games/games you know you like, you'll be okay. I find times when I'll not want to play, but then once I start playing, I'll get really into it and want to keep playing.
So I ask you guys as a favor to yourselves to try it out. Take a notepad document, number each one of your great games, and randomize it. with random.org Post your list up in this thread and thank me later for the happiness it has brought you. -
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
I would imagine this working better for pure pick-up-and-play games that don't rely on telling you a story. If I'm going to choose between Plants vs. Zombies or Team Fortress 2, I don't mind flipping a coin, but if I'm playing Fallout 3 I want to get immersed, so I typically don't switch games at a time like that. Games that I've played through, like Borderlands or Half Life 2, could be picked up and put down at will, but at that point I have to ask myself if there isn't something better I could be doing with my time.

And another thing. You don't have to randomize every time you play. Just when you are bored and want to try something fresh.
And actually, I don't have much of a problem with it. As long as I remember where I'm at in the game, I can pick it up whenever I choose and continue the adventure.
