The game is EverQuest (Underfoot client version, specialized for use with EQemulation servers). The exact client I have is confirmed as working without issue for many others. It works great on the first launch after placing the directory. Runs smoothly, helps me connect to the server more easily, etc.

However, on every launch after the first, it will crash very quickly upon the program starting.

The application error given is: 0x03e6e086 referenced memory at 0x000000044. The memory could not be read.

Here are the dbg logs (externally hosted on codepad):
    First Launch
    Second+ Launch

Anyone else ever run into this type of issue? If so, how was it solved?

Here is some basic system info, but I can provide more if needed.

The last line on the crashing runs is: 00016:Creating window.
The next line on the successful run is: 00017:Checking display driver version.

It seems strange that the game would run so perfectly the first time with the current drivers, but then fail to launch again because of the same drivers. The hybrid graphics setup on this VAIO VPC-Z12 makes driver updating a non-standard procedure, and I just want to get confirmation that is likely the issue here before I dive into the procedure described here ( this is an alternative, but I can't find a working download link in the thread).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks & Kind Regards,

Did you reinstall and did the first time run fine, and for how long was it fine? Have you used the laptop for anything else, any other problems? Is anything else new, hardware or software?

Try running a memory test, and a hard drive full test. Also try a hard drive defrag. Try turning your antivirus off. Make sure nothing else is running in the background.
