I have a toshiba satellite p205 with intel 965 express video chip. When i go to open a game it is in a window and the rest is bordered with black. I tried going to aspect and clicking maintain but for some reason it automatically switches back when i try to click that setting. For some reason the window gets bigger if i up the resolution in the game but i still cant get it full screen and there is no option in the game for this. Thanks a bunch guys!

Does it go in to a window (like you see the window frame with the title and the bar, square, and x in the upper right corner? Or does it just have a black border? I'm guessing that your computer is rendering the game at a 1:1 pixel ratio screen:buffer. If the game only supports 4:3 resolutions, you may well never be able to get it full screen, but that actually isn't a bad thing, because full screen would be in the wrong aspect ratio.

Try holding "alt" and hitting "enter" at the same time.

It sounds like your GPU either isn't or can't scale. Does it give you the black borders even if you are running the game at the screen's native resolution?

i think you are running on Graphics media accelator Card. it happens to my Bro's Compaq, what you need to do is :
    right click on desktop
    Graphic options
    Panel Fit
    then choose fulScreen (No Border)
it will work if you are on a GMA card.
