I play various types of games, more RPG and Strat than FPS, but as much as I love my HDX, the keyboard isn't really to my liking for certain games. Also, I would like to stick with these types vs. xbox 360 type controllers...if I wanted something like that, I would just play consoles. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

What's wrong with the tried-and-true keyboard?

Well, particularly with the HDX ( a large laptop) keyboard and the game I play most often, the space bar is my "jump" key. I use arrow keys instead of WASD for movement (easier to differentiate for me). My old Dell XPS Gen2 had a notebook size keyboard. This was a very functional setup for me. On the HDX, the space bar is set farther away from the arrow keys on the larger keyboard layout. Also, the right shift key is basically normal size key instead of bigger. And a few other anomalies. The desk space I have it sitting on is not really conducive to an additonal full size keyboard, plus a gamepad will fit in my bag for roadtrips, so I am exploring the options of one of the gamepads, since I am basically going to have to "re-train" myself on something anyway.
Hopefully this dissertation answered the question.

I think the snipa pad or your first link would be my choice. It looks like a good layout with all the buttons in the right place, heck i might try one myself...

What's to differentiate? You're not actually looking down at the keyboard, are you? And those keypads basically emulate the left side of your keyboard.

Both CyberSnipa and Ideazon are good pick. I heard the belkin is a gimmick and crap.

On a regular keyboard all the keys are arranged in a rectangular array like fashion. On a gaming pad the keys are (perhaps) more ergonomically laid out, hence offering its user easier access to the keys. Easier access = higher score -
You really know how to contribute positively to a thread don't you? My reasoning is really irrelevant, only asking for some advice on OTHER OPTIONS, not being questioned on motives...
For those of you that have weighed in on the options....THANKS!

Honestly, I use a Cyborg Command Unit, and love it. The software is a little shaky, as far as programming, but the pad itself is fantastic. After using it, I just can't make my way back to a keyboard...

I use the Xbox 360 wireless controller for my PC (and Xbox) and love it.
