This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I have never heard of Gamersgate but this point alone makes me interested:

    I would be interested to hear from anyone who has used this site to get games.

    i downloaded civ 4 off them a year or so ago for cheap. it works really well, you just download the installer off them and it installs like it would off a CD. you can download it as many times as you like as well.

    I've used gamersgate quite a few times. I think of them as the same as Direct2Drive. :p

    I'd find that compelling back in the day when Steam was terrible. I think the Steam client has worked out its issues and, as far as my experience goes, it doesn't hamper my game performance at all, in fact, it makes it better (Steam Overlay).

    This site sounds interesting. Looks more appealing than Direct2Drive just from checking out the deals it has. Mass Effect is dirt cheap, even cheaper than on Steam.
