Hey everyone, I have a problem where all of my newer (DX9/10?) games spontaneously crash to my desktop when loading. These games include Far Cry 2, COD5, NBA 2K9, etc. I don't know how I got this problem, but it suddenly started one day and may have something to do with graphics driver updates. However, every version I now try still has this problem. Before this started, all the games ran perfectly. Older games such as Halo and Warcraft III run perfectly, but for some reason these newer games refuse to cooperate. How can I fix this?

Try a system restore back to when it worked. ;)

If the drivers don't help, could be a hardware problem. Wondering if your card could be overheating

It doesn't appear to be overheating, Rivatuner reads GPU temperature as 56C idle. The games don't play for a while before closing, they do so right when loading so I don't think heat is a factor in this case.

What's interesting is that when this problem first started happening, all my games also wouldn't let me run the Rivatuner statistics server that lets you check framerates/temperature in-game (caused them to crash). Could these two problems be linked together?
