    MS is planning some improvements to the GFW platform on the PC. Some major changes coming include:

    -eliminating the fee requirement for Gold status
    -revamping the interface and changing the menu system
    -creating a marketplace to allow for DLC using Live points

    Fallout 3 DLC (same as XBox DLC) will be the 1st content available. GTA 4 DLC should be coming as well.

    I haven't used this yet, but at least it seems MS is moving the right direction. Maybe they figured out that PC gaming is different than console gaming.

    The fee requirement for PC GFW live titles was removed months ago. You still don't get gold status, just that on PC games silver has the same rights as gold, meaning you can play cross platform games and play ranked matches on PC for free with silver.
