happening to me constantly now for some reason, it used to be just during explosion now it happenes every once in a while , my screen would freeze for 3 second and then become normal again, my fps are fine , it doesn't happen for every explosion or smoke effect but whenever it does happen it was usually because of it.

my cpu and gpu are about 7 months old, nothing really happened before, it used to work just fine. I am sure it is not because game setting is too high since I have played l4d2 eversince i have this laptop, and it was just flawless, now it is just doing this freezing thing all the time.

    any suggestions?

my specs : t9600 2.8Ghz (3.22 prime stable, but i don't usually OC when gaming), gtx 260m, 4 GB RAM.

    thanks for your help

the 260gtx is a good card but 2 years old now so trying to run on max or high settings could be the problem.
have you cleaned out the vents and fans lately as once a lappy gets too hot it will auto downclock to protect itself.

download HW Monitor to check on your temps.

just noticed you OC. problem solved. dont :)

Are you sure? like I said it ran fine before, and yes I cleaned my vent a week ago as I upgrade my cpu (from p7350 to t9600). Are you sure that doesn't sound like any soft-ware related issue to you?

and No, i don't OC often, the only time i OC is right after i install my CPU to test it's limit.

nonono, i appreciate your help, i mean i need all that i can get, like i said i changed my cpu and now im just hoping to play games smoother, the fps is good (40-60 for mw3 in open fields). but it just got those hiccups(someitmes 3seconds, someimtes 0.1 second) occasionally which bugs me.

Try updating drivers? If you have the newest ones, try older ones.
