Yes, most games will allow you to install them more than one computer except you won't be able to play the games on line on both computers at the same time.
-
The official EULA stance is usually that you may play only one instance of a game at any given time. You may also make one backup copy of the game. It doesn't usually go into what you can have the game installed on.
-
Games from Stardock such as Sins of the Solar Empire & the Galactic Civilization II series allows you two installs. I think games from Steam may have a similar system. But normally most games are a one license/one machine affair.
-
Steam gives you infinite installs. You can only play one instance at a time though.
Quite frankly, I'd like to see someone try and play HL2 on two computers simultaneously. -
Well I want to install BioShock on my laptop but its already on my desktop.
-
Bioshock was the weird exception that, at retail, came with a special DRM that only allowed it to be installed ?5? times. However, that was quickly removed after community outrage.

Is there? I was always under the impression that you had to log in first before you can play in offline mode.
-

the whole point of offline mode is so you dont have to log-in online.
You just need to have a username/password autosaved to use offline mode. -
For Steam games:
I run with two computers in online mode, both logged into the same account. That is how my brother and I play Titan Quest over LAN. In reality we can play "multiplayer" at the same time, while stilled logged in (Neither is in offlilne mode).
It only checks to make sure you are logged into Steam when you start opening up multiplayer games that communicate with a server, such as CS or TF2. Otherwise, I could probably play a giant LAN game of TF2 or Titan Quest with 8 people all logged in actively to the same account, just as long as I didn't access servers outside of my LAN. -
So am I able to install BioShock on my laptop as well as my desktop?

Sweet!!!!!
Kinda dumb question but I can also play it right? Not just install it and look at it? -
For sure you can play it on any computer you can install it on. Make sure to install updates if you are not using the Steam version. -
Sweet!!!!! Install time!
