I just got an Asus C90S. It's 2.4 Ghz, has 512mb nvidia 8600.. so it can handle some gaming.
On the other hand, I didn't order an OS. I plan to install some distro of linux on it, but it feels like a waste of the laptop.
I'm a die-hard fan of Counter-Strike, can I at least play that?

well reguardless of the distro, you will need wine. its a windows mimicker. look at this database for compatible applications and games.

I suggest Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn if you want the best support though. its the most tested. -
Mmmm. Very nice.
Yeah, you can play CSS (I think CS 1.6 as well) on Linux distributions using WINE. Google: WINE Linux and it should take you to their homepage. I actually did the same thing as you with my Clevo M570RU. I'm planning to install Linux Ubuntu (or Kubuntu... but I prefer Gnome) first day I get it -
I read that graphic quality was zero when playing with WINE..
Anything to add to that?
*Edit*
CS seems to work flawlessly, thank you! -
where have you heard that? ive never heard of that...
Games playable on linux?
