I just got an Asus C90S. It's 2.4 Ghz, has 512mb nvidia 8600.. so it can handle some gaming.

On the other hand, I didn't order an OS. I plan to install some distro of linux on it, but it feels like a waste of the laptop.

    I'm a die-hard fan of Counter-Strike, can I at least play that?

well reguardless of the distro, you will need wine. its a windows mimicker. look at this database for compatible applications and games.

I suggest Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn if you want the best support though. its the most tested.

    Mmmm. Very nice.

Yeah, you can play CSS (I think CS 1.6 as well) on Linux distributions using WINE. Google: WINE Linux and it should take you to their homepage. I actually did the same thing as you with my Clevo M570RU. I'm planning to install Linux Ubuntu (or Kubuntu... but I prefer Gnome) first day I get it :)

I read that graphic quality was zero when playing with WINE..

    Anything to add to that?

    *Edit*

CS seems to work flawlessly, thank you!
