Release dates were pulled from numerous resources: Official game or publisher site, magazines, online publications (Gamespot, IGN, etc), and unofficial rumors.

Exact dates are published confirmed dates. Months with no date are estimated and subject to change. These are primarily for North America (since I live there). European and other country dates of course can and will be different (although usually within a month).

 

wtf you forgot Left 4 Dead which comes out November 4th

 

Out of those, which are going to actually be good? I think Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, and Prince of Persia will be the only decent games coming out, but I haven't heard too much about most of the others.

Was the Starcraft 2 date confirmed? I thought it was played down by Blizzard?

Wow! This is so exciting! Please also include Operation Flashpoint 2 : Dragon Rising ....

 

I am more of a console gamer myself, but with the new laptop coming I may pick up some titles for the PC instead.

PC only titles that are must buys though are Spore and Diablo 3. Can't wait.

Rage and Wolfenstein are too far out. I just wanted to capture the next six months more or less.

Dead Space I didn't think was too good, but maybe it is.

Forgot about Grand Theft Auto IV... good point.

I'm ESPECIALLY looking forward to Red Alert 3, GTA IV, and you forgot to list Need for Speed: Undercover (unofficially announced). I know the franchise has been going downhill the past few years but I grew up with NFS and I just live the mix between arcade and simulation the games offer.

Far Cry 2 could be crap, no telling till it's out so the same goes for Dead Space which looks cool.

By title I mean to be released between now and Jan 1, 2009 (actually added the Q1 2009)

The official StarCraft 2 site lists that there is no official date as of this time. Where did you find that date?

it could be, but i think the chance of Far Cry 2 being crap is smaller than red alert 3 (with westwood gone and all). Far Cry2 looks really fun in the trailers. i don't know if you guys have seen the one with narration which was really funny.

I really hope that Starcraft 2 would really be out on December already

Of course some of the other games attract me as well. I hope some of the games will take advantage of 4 cores already (time to test my PC )

 

Nice video. Imo Far Cry 2 should be fun to play with, probably similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Red Alert 3 is gonna be nice too. (I'm playing in the RA3 beta so I have some idea on how the online play would be like... and so far I'm having fun with it. )

 

The only game I'm looking forward to is Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising.
It just looks so freaking amazing and if it's anything like the old Operation Flashpoint series then I'm in 100%.

How can you say that?

 

At Blizzcon, Blizzard said the game was only 35% done. I personally think it a better estimate of its release would be early or mid 2009. Blizzard realizes that this is one of their flagship games and they are doing their best to perfect it for release, they've made that much clear. Such is the reason why they're games re so popular/good/still alive.

Hm If Far Cry 2 is like Stalker than I'll be passing on that one. But i am thinking it is going to be a helluva lot better than Stalker.

Tomb Raider Underworld... I loved Legend, haven't finished Anniversary yet. I like the series so I'm puttin this on my list too.

I think it will be a long beta test period for starcraft 2, like 6 months, to make sure all is balanced and so far we haven't heard anything about a beta. december relsease is not prob and then they have missed the holliday so they might as well work a bit more on it. I would say one year from now, and I do not like that guess at all...

 

IMO STALKER: clear sky will pwn HL2 both Graphically and gameplay.

 

Uhm... HL2 came out in 2004. 0.o

Oh and Stalker SOC was a total snore fest

 

You guys forgot about Wrath of the Lich king which is anticipated to come out sometime between October and December.

Hm, will Ep3 be on a new engine? Considering the Source engine's age I'd say Ep2 was looking pretty damn sharp. Oh and there's always the Cinematic Mods to beef up the graphics too. They look pretty darn suhweet. And the gameplay was all out action fest, I loved it.

 

I think Ep3 will still be on the Source engine. Probably a little tweaking, but for the most part same engine.

Source has been around for a few years now, but in my opinion is still one of the best looking engines. I was blown away by it when HL2 released nearly 4 years ago, and I am still blown away by it today.

 

Valve is also using the Source Engine in Left 4 Dead.

Still no Mirror's Edge!?!

 

Mirror's Edge has no official release date, nothing within the next six months at least.

 

Most of the games you listed are on consoles as you already noted, but consoles have 3x more games to be released at the time these will be.
(Btw, Rage is also coming to consoles.)

Just pointing out the obivious.

Oh, and Mirrors Edge is coming November 11. Next time check around abit more.

Ubi said they are not gonna push for Assassin's Creed 2 the way they did for Prince of Persia series, so i'd say wait at least 2 more years
