Well I'm leaving for boot in a couple days, but I was chatting with my fiance about once I get back and settled she would kind of like to try gaming a little with me. She has before, but it's been limited to devil may cry, hitman, guitar hero, and some online neopets game that she has been playing since she moved to japan and had to leave her dog behind (*sigh* poor substitute but, what ya gonna do?). Well she has actually been trying to get me to try out the last one on the list with her...but I'm a COD4, Battlefield 2, Command and Conquer kind of guy, not a neopets guy, haha. So I suggested to her we try and find something we can both enjoy. Got any suggestions for PC games? I want to find something co-op hopefully, and i was thinking of Neverwinter Nights 2, but I'm not sure she'd want to take the time to 'learn' that game. It's a shame hitman isn't co-op, I'd love to find something simple, but fast paced and fun like that to play with her. Simple might be a bad choice of words, because she could probably really get into some games, but NWN might not be her bag, got any ideas?
-
why not go with her to the local game store and read the back of games get feedback, remember everyone's taste in games is different. I personally like Supreme commander, and RA2 (yah I know it's old but so fun!) etc.
-
What about civilization IV, or Age of Empires?
-
guild wars?
-
I play TF2 with my girlfriend. It's a fun-oriented cartoon shooter, so you don't have to take it seriously. While it's pretty easy to be a decent player at TF2, which makes it fun for anyone, more serious players don't get bored, as there is lots of room to be an amazing player with work. Play TF2, be a pyro/demoman and get her to be your medic
If you end up being really good, then she will get assists for all of your kills as your medic, and she will also help you a lot. Then she gets to feel useful, close to you, and you get to rock face -
your fiance must be awesome
-
mercenaries and gears of war??
-
Play the new silent hill 5 with her. You'll need a hug when your scared.
Edit.
But seriously, world of warcraft, warhammer online, or other mmo's can be good with a partner. -
Let me just say let her play what she wants. You're one lucky *******.
-
Ok,
Don't flame me for this one.
Go download the free 10 day free trial of World of Warcraft for both you and your woman. Some of the best times I have had with my wife is when we played MMO's together. -
Co-op games on Civ 4 and the Heroes of Might and Magic series are fun, best coop game I've every played was the Lost Vikings 2 for the PC.
-
just do yourself a favor and do not name your toons:
IamHis
IamHers (really a hubby/wife duo)
or Bigape & Littleape (actually wife and me... lol)
ha ha ha... who knows... to each his&her own...
btw, Blizzard has some promo these days... take advantage of it and get some fancy mounts or pets or free game time... -
As nerdy as this may sound i would suggest Runescape as it has a pretty good community as far as i remember from when i played it years ago. Its a fun rpg where you can do lots of things together
-
i second World of Warcraft.
My girlfriend have been playing it for about 4 months now.
It's a blast and very addicting. -
-
Spore. My best friends wife hates games, but I got her into Spore and the two of them play it all the time. Its simple, fun, easy, and makes for a lot of laughs and good times. Guaranteed!
-
We play Diablo II (via a crossover cable connecting our laptops). Not only is it rather simple for her to learn, it is also one of those games that play decently on her EEE 900.
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
spore has been out for like 30 hours.
-
-
Its not directly multiplayer, but you can still use each others creations and interact with them. Which is what they do. Hence having to log into EA when starting the game.
Its been out since the 5th of Sep. for the UK and the 7th of Sep for the US. -
She'll love TF2
-
Yeah, I didn't even think of TF2. I actually have it but pretty much never play it (I bought the orange box, mostly for portal), she would probably love that. Diablo 2 sounds fun, I've never played it but by the name, sounds like it would suit her tastes. Ohh, haha, and thanks, she is awesome. I have to rule out WoW, we both passionately hate the game.
-
i'd suggest any (good) mmo. expecially guild wars, very fun game great community (minus shing jea dist 1 and great temple of balthazaar dist 1, everyone is a whore) i have had 3 years of fun on that and will probably be jumping in soon (took a 2 month break) and get back. its not a hard pve game, and the pvp is intense. no grinding either.
-
AKAJohnDoe Mime with Tourette's
Generally, it is not a good idea to introduce them to each other.
-
if you wanna do co-op in the same room, get a xbox360. if you wanna do it over the internet, try find out what kind of sports she likes and start from there
-
How about the wonderful game of going outside and enjoying nature and/or each others company?
-
like adam and eve?
what do you do with your girlfriend? because watching movies, eating, shopping, studying at coffee shops is just about all i do with my gf. seriously, it's real hard to go out and have nice walk and enjoy each others company and not be completely bored out of your mind. it's a lot more fun if you hang out with a group of people.
i can't think of better choice for gaming together than MMORPG. -
-
are you saying an individual (girl) can be so interesting that you can sit idly in a park and just talk to her for hours? even when you already talk to her on the phone every single day?
edit: it's been three years already so i guess it may different for new couples shruglol
-
So you'd definitely have to play a game that goes online, since it sounds like she lives in a different country from you right?
I would recommend an MMO, but many MMO's have separate servers for Japan alone.... so I'm not sure that she'd be able to play on Global/US servers. Maybe.... but eh. And it's not easy for you to play on the Japanese servers.
Hmm... I like playing Fiesta (which is free) with some of my friends on the US servers... It's pretty fun, but she will have some lag if you do that. >.> It's not too bad though. (Partying can be fun to train together with. ^^)
I would recommend TF2 though, I think she might be able to play with you if she can do so. (Yes, you are quite lucky. xP I have a lot of guys that are gamers going after me it seems though since I do play video games myself. xD) -
-
Me and my wife both play Guild Wars... she's had lots of fun participating in holiday events, missions, and advancing her drunken title (she has me beat here). All without any monthly subscription. Graphics are also quite nice despite being a 3+ year old game.
I'm looking forward to both Diablo3 and Guild Wars 2. -
when i HAD a girlfriend lol, we played Lineage II and she loved it
-
You need to load up and emulator and play mario party. [most] Girls won't play fps shootemups and boring rpg's or mmo's that us geeks find fun.
-
Naked Twister.
-
-
Well my girifriend is a FPS fan (yeah, rare one), we've beaten Serious Sam 1 (2 parts), Serious Sam 2, Doom 3 Co op mod (especially recommend this one) together. There's just not enough Co op FPS games on the PC for us.
Besides, we play Worms game, Gunbound, some games on emulators and many games on the DS. -
I play a number of games with my GF.... we played a few MMO's:
- Silkroad
- FFXI
Now we are just playing on the DS.... which is awesome for girls/women.
Get them a DS and they are set.
I have been playing Tetris DS against each other & friends, we play co-op in Contra 4, we play Mario Kart DS, we play Jump Ultimate Stars (awesome, like Smash Bros.), etc... -
world of warcraft
my guild is ran by a guy and his wife
how romantic -
-
OMFG dook! where teh F did you find that one?
-
-
i agree- WoW FTW!!! lol it'd be just like purepwnage
