    Hey guys,

I have my eye on a toshiba M100 core duo 1.86Ghz, 2x512mb of ram but with an Intel GMA 950, running vista home premium. I don't consider myself a gamer but I am however, a fan of the EA NHL series (and the NHL 2K series).

I'm looking to buy NHL 08 when it is out but since I will be overseas I would only be able to play on the laptop im considering buying. I currently can run NHL 07 on my desktop (AMD Sempron 64, 1.6ghz, 1g ram) with a GeForce FX 5200 at lower res and detail but I'm not too bothered by that.

Will running NHL games on an intel GMA 950 result in lower quality than what I run with now? Is it worth laying down another couple hundred to get a dedicated card (and also maybe C2D)? - hard to find a dedicated card on an M100 i've noticed.

Keep in mind that the intel gma 900 is not supported by the recent nhl games.

if you consider minimal gaming you should go for a good graphics solution u see upgrading is a big problem in laptops u can have look on hp dv6100 series or 6200 series very good configs they come with geforce 7400 series chips and 128 mb graphic mem . enough for most casual gamers .

It will give worse results then an Fx5200. Definitely don't get anything below a 7200/X1300, and even at that, that's if you don't mind playing NHL games at low to mid settings. Those games aren't very demanding, a Go7400/X1400 should handle them well, and a slightly more expensive Go7600/X1600 would handle them great.

For games, the video is far more important then the processor. A 1.86Ghz Core Duo is more then enough.

No, Google it or search around the forums. No one here has the time to compile up the 1000's of games that work on GMA 950.

I'm pretty sure that there is a game compatibility list with games supported by GMA 950 somewhere on Intel's site, so try to search it out there.

    Edit: Here is the link.
