Thinking bout getting this laptop... not a hard core gamer, but like to have the option of playing - things like counter strike, need for speed etc. Will this laptop - esp the graphics card - allow this, with reasonale resolution and no lag in gameplay?
-
Integrated video card is not good. If you are not a hardcore gamer, you need at least ATI 3470 or Nvidia 8400 series which is already under-whelming in performance...
-
I know CSS will run, but don't expect to be playing anything modern. That's pretty much the lowest of the low right now.
-
the graphics card is integrated, it wont work well for games, expecially modern ones. you might be able to play, but you will probalby have to turn everything to low and at a low resolution to be able to play fluidly
-
That card is a intel IGP card meaning not good at all at games especially at modern games only old games from 2004 and before will work well. Get at least a low-end dedicated graphic card or better if you want to play games

Thanks guys
Is this better?

The 3470 is slightly more powerful than the 8400......Close enough to be considered in the same basic class.
Performance would be OK (not great) for most games currently released. -
is it a problem that the graphics card is ddr and the cpu is ddr2?
-
No, DDR2 RAM has no correlation to your video card's RAM. It'll work fine.
-
No.
An IGP shares from the same pool of system RAM as the CPU.
A dedicated GPU has it's own, separate video RAM and dedicated data path.
The amount, type, and speed of video RAM can be different.
This was explained in the sticky you already read
