Hello,
Can someone explain to me what games with same engine means? I know the BASIC concept but not in details.
Thanks,

you mean same graphics engine like source and cryengine?
-
Source Engine has many games, Portal, HL2 ,HL2: Episode 2, Team fortress 2, Counter strike, day of defeat,
then comes Unreal ENgine 3, which has Unreal tournament 3, gears of War, Stranglehold, Rainbow six vegas 1 and 2, Splinter cell double agent and many more.
CryEngine has many games aswell. and CryEngine2 has a couple of games right now.
Games with Same Engine runs in most likley the same way, have the same way of rendering and the same way of handeling physics and Particles etc.. -
Another example would be Battfield 2142 running under a modified version of the Battlefield 2 engine.
-
You can also have games with the same game engine (rather than graphics engine). For instance, take a look at the Warhammer 40k series and the Company of Heros games. They come from the same company, and it is pretty evident that the underlying game engine is at least strongly related if not identical. But yeah, at least currently, most of the time that people talk about engines, they are talking about the graphics and physics engine(s).

Another game addition to the Source Engine is the up coming Left 4 Dead (Left For Dead), which looks very promising as a lan style Game to be played with friends.

Unreal Engine 3 games:
- Gears of War 1 & 2
- Bioshock
- Unreal Tournament 3
- Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (almost out)
- Turok
- Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2
- Stranglehold
- Medal of Honor: Airborne
- Army of Two

not all games using same engine will run the same, devs can also screw up a game like vegas using same engine
