I have a HP 9500t with a 8600m GS and I cant get any games to work. I put a game disk in, it loads and then goes to the splash screen and then goes away, minimizing itself. The cpu usage is at 100% until I close the app. Im plugged in, not using a battery and run everything in admin mode. Anyone know a solution?

It's kind of hard to diagnose computer problems when you don't have much to go on, especially not even an error message.

Your best bet is to update your video card drivers I'd guess.

Does it happen in every game you try?!? I've had that happen with a handful of Electronic Arts games on my desktop system, and the way I fixed it was bying using no-cd modifications. ;)

One other thing that seems to work in that situation is to change your screen resolution to the resolution the game defaults to before you launch the game. For example if you know the game runs at 1024x768 by default try setting your desktop resolution to that before you launch the game. (see the post by myself and lmark84l at the very end of the thread linked below for more information and other links regarding the issue):

If changing your resolution, or a no-cd patch doesn't fix the issue let me know what games you are trying to play and I'll see if I can offer you other suggestions to try. :D
