Hey guys, got a birthday coming up next week, and I'm not sure what games (if any) I want to get.
I'm a little into FPS's, was thinking about getting Crysis.
I like MORPG's, currently playing City of Heroes, so my monthly subscription money goes to that at the moment. And I don't like paying for an online subscriptions to begin with anyway.
The one game I do plan on getting is of course Oblivion.
I'm not sure though, not really torn between any, and not really wanting some badly to begin with.
Anyone got any suggestions you might think I like?

I'd recommend the Orange Box if you haven't gotten it already, mainly for Single player , but for multiplayer there's TF2.
Second I'd recommend COD4 for the multiplayer (since the single player is really short). -

If you don't really want anything right now, get a gift card and wait until Fallout 3 comes out at the end of the month.

The Orange Box (Multiple FPS games)
Crysis (Classic and demanding)
Crysis Warhead (Less demanding for certain specs. I enjoy both SP/MP beter than original Crysis minus the SP campaign being shorter)
The Witcher (Great RPG, different style from Oblivion, which I see you're getting but very good nonetheless)
Bioshock (Another Classic FPS, I would say. A must get)
Mass Effect (gets a 8-9/10 in almost every aspect from me)
Coming Soon:
Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Dead Space -
Get unreal tournament 3. it's crap on singleplayer but mp is awesome
-
Thanks for the input all!
I will probably get The Orange Box, Crysis, Oblivion, and I'm gonna look into The Witcher, and Fallout 3.
Thanks guys!
Feel free to post if anyone else has any input! -
orange box is great, I just got it for myself. luving it so far.

yeah the Orange Box is great. i would also reccomend COD4 i love it, the single player though a bit short is very good and the MP is even better

The Witcher is very very good as well. More Planescape: Torment/Baldur's Gate-y than Oblivion. I.e. deeper story, well written, more realistic/no clear good versus evil storyline or actions, etc. Probably what Mass Effect is to scifi RPGs. -
Great games coming very soon (within next month or so), worth waiting for (I hope):
- Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway (Oct 7)
- Dead Space (Oct 20)
- Far Cry 2 (Oct 21)
- Fallout 3 (Oct 28)
- Red Alert 3 (Oct 28)
- Call of Duty: World at War (Nov 11)
- Mirror's Edge (Nov 11)
Of course the best game I'm looking forward to is the birth of my second son in mid November! -
I played this game and lost so I have decided to not buy the expansion pack. Not to mention the high monthly subscription fee, this game has consumed my life. -
Lol. I hear ya. It's been more challenging than I ever could imagine. If my wife and I can manage these two boys, I think we can manage anything.
Sorry to hear about losing the game. Now I always tell my wife that I'm two child support payments from poverty, so I keep saying "yes dear". -
Congrats.

The Legacy of Kain anthology... if you have the time. I've yet to see another game that comes close in story quality.
If you do play, stay away from LoK online forums until you are finished. You don't want spoilers, plus there are a lot of people that over think the plot and have it completely confused. The story is VERY complex, but if you just see things as they are and take the simplest explanation, it's much easier to understand. -
All of the games previously mentioned by people are great choices. (I love the Orange Box myself. xP)
Left 4 Dead is looking really awesome, too, by Turtle Rock Studios and Valve, it is going to have an Online Multiplayer Mode too.
It is a Co-Operative Survival Horror Game.
Coming up in November 19 (North America) and November 21 (Europe) to celebrate Half-Life's anniversary, for PC and Xbox 360 through retail stores and Steam.
