    Yes, and so far they are using the same races of FFXI but re-branded (different names).

    played aion on chinese beta and retail for over a month and aion looks already much better.

    I played aion also. It looks beautiful but doesn't have epic scenery like these huge open plains. What I'm saying is, the art direction in FF games is always excellent.

    In any case, I'm starved for something different than the typical PC MMO (yeah, aion is practically just another, prettier, WoW). FFXI's gameplay was unique and I hope this will be another step in that direction.

    By the way, I don't know if you saw the emote video and some of the other gameplay videos, but final fantasy games also have very naturally moving characters. I like that a lot.

    u havent realy got to known aion good if u still have the opinion it is a bette rlooking WoW version.

    u may be right about teh huge plains but this is boring..those plaisn vere like totaly empty..only a few hills and some plants on it..and teh fighting animations are rubbish compared to what u hav ein aion.

    besides that the game is way too low paced for me.

    I just hope you don't have to fight those chicken mobs over & over with different names throughout the game lol... like FFXI :D

    Seriously though, I played FFXI for years and had a blast; and I'm really looking forward to FF14. I really hope they keep the sub class job system in place. And keep it a hardcore grind-fest, I'm serious lol ;)

    I hear you. One thing I loved about 11 was that they made it so you absolutely had to get into groups. If you were a horrible player or just a jerk it was a lot harder for you to get to level 75. That's changed since I stopped playing a few years ago though.

    The Gamescom presentation was on the Alpha stage of development.

    This doesn't even scratch the surface of the game to come.
