Hey guys. I recently sold my desktop computer to help compensate for buying my Macbook pro. I now want to rebuilt a gaming desktop because I noticed that the GT 8600 can sometimes lag when playing newer games. Does anyone have any suggestions on any pre-made or barebones that are decently priced? I want to spend no more than 600$ or so. I already have all the peripherals; mouse, keyboard, monitor.

    Thanks!

$800 is a good target for a semi high end gaming setup $600 is pushing it for quality parts.

Too bad you got the MBP... its no different than a windows machine with a 8600GT for half the price when it comes to games, you just paid for the logo/name & OS.

Nothing wrong with a Mac if thats what you want and have the budget for it but it clearly didnt work out well for you.

I would take a peek here:

He actually has a $600 mid end gaming build posted.

Also with i7 out and about here shortly maybe some other C2D stuff will drop in price so thats good for you.
