So I wanna start using the turbo mode on my new notebook, but it seems like it wouldn't even be worth it unless it actually makes a significant difference. so will the boost from 2.4 to 2.66 actually do anything? if it does what will it help with, the framerate? See system specs in sig

won't help much as you're limited by your GPU.

i JUST bought a new computer and i already want more. i have problems. -
Turbo boost is outside your control and activates when a number of preset parameters are reached, load/temp/etc.
It should help with things like video encoding, games, etc. -

The turbo mode is something you can't manually control, in some notebooks you can manually turn it on or off but that doesn't permanantly put the CPU at 2.66ghz it only jumps there if it's needed based on what the hardware senses running. It would be nice if it were manually controllable to just turn it to 2.66 constantly but unless your computer can OC through setfsb it's not possible.
Edit: Whoops, Jasp beat me to it. -
ooooh. that makes more sense. you guys are like, on top of everything. NBR forums is the reason why im learning so much about notebooks lol
