A while back I asked if anyone on this forum tried to play multiplayer games using wireless broadband internet. Well I bought a Sprint Ovation 720 USB modem and it works pretty well. The modem cost $50 and it costs $60 per month for service (2yr contract). I chose Sprint because they have REV-A speeds in my area and I've heard stories about Verizon cancelling accounts if you use more than 5gbs a month. I wanted to let everyone know how well it performs with all the games I have, in case like me they don't have access to broadband internet. Using Speedtest.net I checked my connection from home with only 2 signal bars out of 6. At work its even faster but ping is about the same, I'll check it there later and post the results.
Ping - 286ms D/L speed - 1113 kbps UP/L speed - 156 kbps
World of Warcraft - Latency 250-400ms - The game works near perfect with very few disconnects.
Fear - Latency 250-800ms - The game lags slightly depending on signal strength. I usually only play on servers without punkbuster so I don't get kicked off but its still very fun.
Diablo 2 - Works perfectly.
Titan Quest - This game also works fine.
Company of Heroes - This is the only game that I can't get to work. The connection speed is red and it lagged terribly for me.
I hope this post lets everyone know that enjoyable gaming is possible with wireless broadband even though it lags with certain games.

I get great connection and little to no lag when playing online using a wireless card. It also kind of depends on how good your wireless card is and plus im "borrowing" a signal from someone on my street and it plays great online!

He is talking about wireless broadband not wireless in the sense you're talking about.
