I am looking to buy a Laptop that can do both games (decent frame rate) and just basic stuff (internet, word etc) outside. Also DVD player for the car. What I am wondering is how well the laptop will preform outside. I am looking at a Dell 1520 with a T7500, 2GB Ram, 8600GT 256 MB but am stuck at the display type. They give you four options,

    • Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800),
    • Anti-glare, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800)
    • High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1680x1050)
    • High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1440x900).

I am thinking to go with the Antiglare screen, but what beniefts will the glossy High Res screens get me? Also I am one to worry about frame rate at high resolutions and don't want to be stuck at 15 fps in WoW because I bought the 1680*1050 screen. So which is the best for my circumstance? Thanks

If you are gonna be outside a lot, the Anti-Glare is probably the best to go with. The glossy screen will give you more vibrant colors, but will cause a glare.

What games are you looking at playing?

Get a matte/anti-glare screen for outdoor use, not glossy.
