    Hey guys!
    I recently bought y400 it worked fine first couple of days and it seemed to work fine when everything was in power savings mode.
    I changed couple of my settings ( graphics to full performance, power setting to maximize performance) few days later, then it started to cause problems. fps in the game fluctuates violently, between 60 and 200 and ping would randomly spike to over 9999 and slowly decrease down to playable ping. It is not as bad as some of the other problems posted, but I start to lag and ping would spike whenever I am in a team battle for about 10 seconds and be able to play like normal while fps fluctuation happens throughout the game with about 5 second intervals.
    I've tried using gamebooster, I don't anymore since it doesn't have any difference. My internet gets about 45MBps so its is not the internet's problem. Fps fluctuations don't happen and is constant at 60 when I put all my computer settings to normal (power savings and graphic to automatically decide), however the random ping spikes are still evidently there. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I really want to figure out the problem so I can get it fixed. Should I contact lenovo tech and resolve this problem or is there any other methods you guys would suggest to fix this problem? :confused:
    Thank you

    You can't rule out connection problems. High speeds do not mean that your internet connection is free from packet loss or jitter.

    I agree. Depending on where you live, you could be sharing bandwidth with your neighbors who might be using torrents or streaming tons of videos. Same goes for if you share internet with your family or roommates.

    What are your fps like normally and what are they like when it stutters or slows down?
    Try downloading Fraps and seeing what your FPS does during these games. Keep in mind the 650m is a fast card but not top of the line, you'll see some stuttering during big team battles when playing on high graphics and high resolution.

    Run cmd.exe, then run "ping google.com -t" This will continuously ping google.com and feed you latency. It won't affect your current latency, but at least you can see if it's the game servers or your laptop or internet.

    Also, what are your temperatures while playing? HWinfo 64 should tell you.

    @Smellon
    Temperature right after the game was cpu = 115F, GPU = 113F, Harddisk = 99F.

    I am pretty sure it is not the problem with internet because i have another laptop, envy 14 beats edition and it runs these games fine without any problem (under same circumstances). I have tried playing the game back to all normal settings, GPU 3D auto detect and power saving mode, etc and it seems it won't fix the problem anymore. The laptop seems not too hot on the surface but while playing game with envy 14, the temperature clearly overheats even on the keyboards causing higher temperature raise. Still not able to detect the problem.

    Those temps in Fahrenheit are evenhandedly way to low unless you are running on NO2 or something.. They should be > 170F! Sounds like the machine is not giving all the required power to its chis (gfx adapter and CPU) Have you looked onlye for others with the same laptop complaining about this?

    Tried updating all the important drivers of the Intel or AMD chips? Also, are you gaming via Wifi or cable?

    I saw this issue on a HP Pavilion, which was horrible and well reported, ended up being a driver problem which took HP forever to fix due the lack of aftersale support, if its still new you can always demand a refund or a working machine...

    I recommend that too.
    BF3 used to drop to 2-3 fps for a small time at random until i used that tool.
