Hi,
recently I bought Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo m1437g notebook (specifications: PM 740, 1 GHz RAM, ATi Mobility Radeon X700 128 MB, Samsung SATA HDD 5400 RPM). I tested capabilities of my machine playing some games (Call of Duty 2, Half Life 2, NFS Most Wanted and etc.). And after testing I can state, that this machine isn't very strong. All these games are running, but in all cases there is strange freezing all the time. I ran games in middle range, so I expected, that such kind of machine should handle it without any trouble. I reinstalled my video drivers several times and now i'm using newest catalyst 5.13. So my question is - should such kind of machine handle demanding games in middle range? Or maybe re-installation of video drivers could post some problems? Thanks for advices.

Hey roole,
Thank you for starting this thread. I just want to say a few things about this F&S notebook.
It is a great, good looking notebook but I must say I only get 2300 3dmark 05 (351/297 stock). The gaming performance are some times weird. I usuelly play America's Army Operations and sometimes I lag like hell (20 fps) while I should easily have 60 fps.
I have a 1.73, 1 GB DDR 2 Dual Channel, 80 GB SATA, 15.4 Crystalview, X700 mobility.
I have latest 5.12 omega drivers, notebook is clean (Harddisk I mean). This performance drop is weird.
ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING:
I dont know if roole has this too, but because I use W, S, A, D a lot with gaming they have all gone black/dirty. I tried several cleaners (water, cleaning stuff not the best I must say) but I cant get it off. Anyone has tips?
But in general I must say this notebook rules. Planning to make a review.

Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M1437G: 1.73 GHz Sonoma, 1 GB DDR 2 400 MHz Dual Channel, 80 GB SATA 8 mb buffer, X700 mobility 350/300, 15.4" Crystalview, remote control, MX510 mouse, Silvercrest headset. :centrino: :fujitsu: -
2300 is not bad at all for a X700 128mb. my 128 mb X600 scores 1660 in 3dmark05 which is very good too.
you guys problems just sound like driver issues to me. you should try the new 5.13 mobility drivers as they are much better than the 5.12. also try reinstalling the games you are having problems with and make sure they are updated.
HL2 should run absolutely fine on your X700, with my X600 on my N6210, (i have 1.25gb of RAM) i run with all the settings on high with 2x Anit Aliasing on 1440x900 resolution with no problems at all, but there seems to be something wierd with the latest steam update, all the textures in hl2 are very shiny now and bright, but they will fix that.
also make sure you don't have RAM heavy programs running in the background while you are playing, although your system should be able to handle that. if you are still having trouble i would say to talk to Fujitsu help and see what they say,
you might also try running 3dmark05 and post what you score as some people with ASUS X700's were getting low 3dmark05 scores
