Currently looking at buying a new laptop. Ive narrowed it down to the Asus F3J, Zepto Znote 6314W, Zepto Znote 6615WD and Rockdirect Pegasus 655. Each has its own pros and cons.

With the Zeptos its the size and type of screen. The 6314W has a glossy screen but its a 14.1" screen, while the 6615WD is a 15.4" matte screen. Ill mainly be playing World of Warcraft (with about 39 other people on the screen) on the laptop, Spore when its released and maybe a few other games. Could anyone tell me if gaming on a 14.1" screen is all that different from gaming on a 15.4" screen? Currently Im using a 15" TFT screen, would I see much difference when moving to a 14.1", keeping in mind that the 14.1" has a higher resolution?

    Thanks,
    Shin

the 15" regular is similar in size to the 14.1 ws. Go to a store and check it out, there's not that much a difference really.

I'm assuming your 15" screen is XGA, and the 14.1" is WXGA--so it will just have more width to it (horizontal pixels).

If you go with a 15.4" system, I'd recommend the WSXGA+ option when available. To me 15.4" with WXGA is too low resolution.

The best way to check this out is to go to your local electronics store and compare a notebook that the same screen size as yours with one that is smaller. Keep in mind that screen-resolutions may be different. At least you will have a knowledge of how it might be when you order online.

Ive gone from gaming on a 15.4 to a 14.1 and i don't really notice a change. As for the higher resolution its personal preference. Follow guatam's sound advice. Go to PC world or what not and check it out yourself.

I concur. 14.1" isn't that much of a shrink, really, and I prefer it for it's portability over a 15.4". Depends on your eyesight, and if you want the higher-res screens that a 15.4" has available ;) I wouldn't get a 15.4" with a 1280x800 screen again, it'd be 1680x1050 or nothing. I'd ideally like a 1440x900 in my notebook now, but wish in one hand...

A 14" machine is considerably more portable than a 15.4" machine in my opinion, so if portability is what matters to you, then go with the 14" display. I agree that WXGA is a bit low of a resolution for a 15.4" machine.

Definitely try to see both screen sizes in person - it will make your decision a whole lot easier.
