i get 60+ fps while playing GTA on maximum settings while on connected to power. But when gaming on battery it drops to less than 30. I m in high performance mode and all, have tried different drivers and a couple of other games as well. But the performance always becomes less than half on batter.![]()
is gaming on batter no possible?or can i do something to improve performance
thanks

The geforce 8000 series tends to downclock when on battery life. It's good most of the time however your inability to state what power you want is kinda crappy.
-
why do you want to play games on battery?? it drains very fast.
anyways, the gpu downclocks when on battery. you can turn that off by either switching the battery option in the control panel or turning off power optimizer with the registry. -
I'm not sure your battery is capable of putting out the kind of power required to run an 8800m GTS. You MIGHT try some of the laptopvideo2go.com drivers, which might disable powermizer and make your card more powerful on battery.
Really though, I'm not sure the battery is capable of high enough wattage output. -
Disable nvidia powermizer on batteries:
Go to:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{**unique to you for nvidia**}\0000\PerfLevelSrc
Change 3333 to 2222
Reboot. Done. -
thanks guys will try it

your battery most likely isn't designed to put out that much power that fast- it could damage your battery. not positive on this- someone else should confirm.
however, at full power draw, your battery is seriously going to last 20 minutes tops. maybe 15. so from full charge you can game for like 10-15 minutes after you consider loading times for the OS and the game... then the battery is dead. what good does this do you?
plug in to game. -
BenLeonheart walk in see this wat do?
169.28 , and 174.74 had let me play with battery only at standard performance, 177.35 do not.

Also disable Intel Speedstep in the BIOS. It will force the CPU to run at its designed multiplier
Gaming on Battery (pitiful performance)
